Welcome to new members

BNI Drake is looking forward to welcoming two new members to its numbers this Thursday. Having visited the chapter twice each, Mark Mears of Mark Mears Massage Therapy and Phil Russell of Flipix Photography have both seen the way that BNI works and have decided that they want a share of the business that is being passed through the group.

The ‘photographer category’ has traditionally been very productive in BNI Drake, and we are confident that Phil will carry on this legacy and secure some great contacts and business through the group. In addition to this the members are extremely pleased to see Mark join the group, recognizing that his presence will not only add a ‘health and wellbeing’ presence to BNI Drake, it will also open up avenues to attracting more representatives from this growing sector.

New Service from BD Works

bdwlogo-smallBD Works is proud to announce the launch of its professional key cutting service. Ben Dillon has both experience and qualifications as a locksmith, so the addition of key cutting to the BD Works service list was a natural move for Ben.

BD Works offers competitive rates for mortice and cylinder type keys to both domestic and commercial clients. Providing a collection and delivery service, they can also advise, supply, and fit insurance-approved British Standard locks.

“A spare key costs a few pounds, a locksmith late at night will cost a fortune. The KEY word here is don’t get locked out, get a spare key!”

Update from Drake Chapter

Although all has been quiet on the website front for a couple of months, BNI Drake Chapter has started 2010 with a host of positive initiatives.

From Thursday 11th February our weekly meetings will be held at the Jury’s Inn on Exeter Street in central Plymouth. The move is a pre-emptive step to prepare for an expected rise in membership in the coming months, and we look forward to enjoying the corporate hospitality offered by the hotel. The chapter would also like to extend its thanks to the staff at Bar HaHa who have looked after us very well for the past 9 months.

A Welcome To New Members

Following the success of our recent visitors day, BNI Drake is happy to welcome two new members into our group. Lucy Hall of Gill Akaster Solictors and Brian Dalton of The Print House satisfy two categories that the members have been very keen to fill for some time.

As the head of the Small Business Unit at Gill Akaster, Lucy represents one of the most respected and long standing solicitor firms in the South West. With extensive experience in both Bristol and Exeter prior to moving to Plymouth, Lucy will add an important element to the financial/legal power group in BNI Drake.

BNI Drake Press Release

news-iconMembers of BNI Drake will be delighted to hear that we have an upcoming mention in the press. Within the next few days, the Plymouth Herald will publish an article written by regional BNI press correspondent Mike Elleston of And Words copywriting. Entitled ‘Plymouth Bank Broken Into at 7am’, the full article can be seen here….

When the members of a leading Plymouth Business group decided to change their meeting place little did they think they would have to break into a bank. The weekly meeting arrived at the new setting and joined the staff looking at locked doors. It was all rather fascinating as on this occasion the group had invited 11 new visitors to their meeting. An interesting introduction to business networking!

New Venue for BNI Drake

From Thursday 21st May, BNI Drake Chapter will be holding our weekly meetings at Bar Ha!Ha! in Plymouth City Centre. Recognized by many as the Old Barclay’s Building on Berkeley Square, the venue is perfectly placed and equipped to work with a BNI chapter, and we look forward to a new era of Drake meetings.

The leadership team and chapter members would like to thank Andy and his team at the Royal Plymouth Corinthians Yacht Club for hosting BNI Drake meetings for the last couple of months. We wish them success in the future and hope to be able to work with them again in the future.
