Update from Drake Chapter

Although all has been quiet on the website front for a couple of months, BNI Drake Chapter has started 2010 with a host of positive initiatives.

From Thursday 11th February our weekly meetings will be held at the Jury’s Inn on Exeter Street in central Plymouth. The move is a pre-emptive step to prepare for an expected rise in membership in the coming months, and we look forward to enjoying the corporate hospitality offered by the hotel. The chapter would also like to extend its thanks to the staff at Bar HaHa who have looked after us very well for the past 9 months.

Every week a different member has the chance to present their business to the group in the form of a 10 minute talk. This week is the turn of Frank Lyons of Humane Architecture, our chapter’s resident architect.

humaneFrank has been a member of BNI Drake for some time, and has helped develop not only the buildings of members and their contacts, but also the structure of the group itself.

Frank has taught extensively, he was formerly Principle Lecturer and Director of Programmes at the University of Plymouth’s School of Architecture. He led the Zen Design Studio in the Graduate Diploma Programme, and the ideas developed by this and subsequent course became the basic philosophy for Humane Architecture.
